Information Technology Department Message

The mission of the office is to provide integrated and secure technology solutions to support all administrative, educational, and research processes to raise the level of performance at the university and to introduce the university internally and externally while keeping abreast of technical developments and disseminating information technology knowledge in and outside the university community.

Objectives of the IT department

Gradually converting all services, systems, and applications from the traditional (paper) to the electronic state.

-Creating and converting the university’s website from a static to a dynamic state by using high-level programming languages that rely on the Internet, improving its content, and maintaining it on a regular basis in order to raise the university’s global ranking.

-Establish e-learning, pay attention to scientific content, and adopt international standards, which raise the university’s global ranking.

-Building an optical cable network to connect university departments, centers, and departments with each other.

-Building interactive applications for students with the university library, electronic classes, and international libraries.

-Training university professors and staff according to specialized courses in all areas of information and communication technology, electronic management, and networks, and following the importance of developing the capabilities of human cadres working in the university and keeping pace with technological development.

-Providing a secure information system that conforms to the standards of electronic systems to support decision-making and provide distinguished electronic services.

-Currently balancing IT needs with anticipated future needs.

Tasks of the Information Technology Department

  • Providing consultations, electronic solutions, technical studies, and providing training services in the fields of information technology inside and outside the university.
  • Publish news and announcements and update them periodically on the website.
  • Publishing research, books, graduation projects, and scientific conferences on the university’s website.
  • Issuing electronic cards.
  • Connecting the Internet to the various faculties and departments of the university.
  • Connect internal telephone lines to the various faculties and university departments.
  • Employ information technology to support all activities in the university.
  • Keep up with the rapid development in the field of technology and information technology.
  • Providing technical solutions that contribute to raising performance and securing speed of communication between the various faculties and departments of the university through the university’s advanced network.
  • Currently balancing IT requirements; with expected future needs.
